Dr. Eleni Marcantonis is an expert in the practice of cognitive behavioral therapy and the founder of Manhattan Cognitive Therapy Consultants. She received her Doctoral degree in psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, and her Master’s degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is a licensed psychologist in New York State and has 20 years of experience working in the mental health field. She completed her American Psychological Association approved internship at Greystone Psychiatric Hospital in New Jersey. In addition to having extensive experience in treating individuals with depression, anxiety and eating disorder, Dr. Marcantonis has worked as a forensic psychologist and as an expert witness for the State of New Jersey and has over 500 hours of court testimony experience. She has also worked as a Clinical Supervisor on Riker’s Island and is currently a consultant for several rehabilitation centers throughout New York City.
Dr. Marcantonis’ approach to treating individuals combines cognitive behavioral therapy methods with stress reduction and problem-solving approaches. In addition to having extensive experience in treating individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety, panic disorder, eating disorders, and self-esteem issues, Dr. Marcantonis’ practice also focuses on food addiction and weight loss, substance abuse treatment and couples issues. Dr. Marcantonis provides a comfortable and supportive environment for her clients and tailors her approach to the individual. She and her consultants provide an informed, objective assessment of one’s difficulties and hindrances as well as a specific treatment plan.
